History.

The inception of Zomper RM arrived from a personal challenge, wherein I needed a quick solution. Early 2022 while exploring GPT and generating small experimental projects, I was also rendering thousands of animation frames for a client. There came a moment where I needed to rename the files and couldn’t find a simple solution, so I asked Chat GPT if it was possible to provide an automated solution for renaming the 2000+ files. GPT generated a very quick script that allowed me to select a directory and provide a new name for the files. This immediately worked and did the trick. I then began to think about the possibilities of creating a more robust UI for the tool so I could share it with friends who occasionally faced similar issues. Next I began to think about additional options and modules and all the different ways a person might want to batch rename files. Very quickly the project expanded from a simple problem solving project addressing my own needs to a large and relatively complex application, relatively speaking for a person who has no idea how to write a single line of code. This became the first project where I really began to see the potential of Chat GPT as an assistant in real world problem solving and project development.
